  2. Ok i am a bit more optimistic now. Alps are helping! sorry for my previous post. Anybody is thinking to go to ECES? Przemek
  3. I am bit pessimistic about that whole carving nonsence.<o></o> It feels a bit like a dream from the past. <o></o> But yeah I will go to Vt couple times and maybe some kaatskill, <o></o> Alps for new year and maybe some west. <o></o> Not teaching in Windham anymore way too boring.<o></o> Not racing nationals, (I won my division GS last two years but not going to go to open not enough practice) <o></o> Maybe I will go more snowkiting this season instead.<o></o> <o>See you on the slope! </o>
  4. Have you guys seen this? I think it was going to be all around board but looks like racing/carving deck. Any opinions? http://www.cheetahultrasports.net/whip.html
  5. 2007 Tanker 177 for sale. I rode it 4 times and did a few jumps around my ski house. Thare are few skraches on the bottom but nothing close to the edge. I will bring more detiled photos after weekend. Make an offer. Przemek
  6. http://www.thundercloudmarketing.com/FreePage21.htm Only gloves that last a seeson for me, anything else is just a matter of days. (i EC hard) and the price is great, get the long ones. P
  7. I will take for 300 $ plus shipping, what do you think?
  8. I am sure Bruce has a tamplate :) Great deck, but slightly shorter then tipical carver and maybe a little on wide side. I agree with Shred tanker is tottaly different animal. i use tankers off trail coiler and swoard for groomers, Dont get me wrong i carve on tanker but it would be only 50 to 70 % of coiler performance depend on snow.
  9. Yes on liftline that was me and my little brother. It was only steep slope at stowe we could find. Comparing to sword, it was 170 something, soft flex, from 4 or 5 years ago, compering to coiler it was much softer, it was good and bad i feel like i could bend it more on steeps where there was no ice, Coiler cuts better thru ice and all kind of stuff but i am having a little harder time if i want to push it very hard on steeps. Colier is more about locking to its own path, Swoard i could push to do whatever. The most important diffrence is that coiler is tween tips and i can ride switch on it, swoard got delaminated in the process:) PRZ.
  10. It is symerical, only clue is that inserts are few inches towards one end, so this is a tail. Only time when you need to know is when you mounting your bindings, anyway.
  11. Acha i forgot about graphics!! I had some plans to put tons of pink roses on it maybe you have seen my post some time ago, but i run out of time and i decided to go super simple and suprisingly i really enyoy it simple apperance, TD2s look great on black matt background. (it is accualy glossy but i still have a protective foil on it;)
  12. HI Here is my stchuby, It is metal construction symetrical, twin tip design. 165 with 13 side cut. Made by Bruce of course. 23 wide. I love this board, it carves so well, and becouse short lenght you could do a lot of little carving trics on this 180s 360s, it carves switch well. Jumps are great as well. It is easy to put it on the nose and rotate to switch, squere shape is not a problem. Only consequence of going squere is a little more difficult to initiate skid turns (at least it is my impresion) that thing want to carve all the time. But i dont want to skid anyway right? Only things that i am not sure abut is the stiffnes i used to ride softer boards and it seems that this one performes extreemly well for angulated racecarving technique but if i want to EC on steep it could be a tad softer so i could load the nose a bit more. It performes off trail ok, a lot of float in powder, suprisingly squere front is not a problem, but it is too stiff to realy anjoy it off piste i would rather take my tanker:)
  13. I LOVE STEEPS, if there would be no steeps i would rather go to park ;) There is this absolutely incredible feeling when you initiate toe side turn and you trow your body downhill and your board is on downhill edge behind you. Then somehow it comes around, like a magic. I understand there are people comfortable on blues but if you never try this you are missing half of the fun. In my book Greens and blues are for carving switch, 360s and goof around. Also it is very hard to EC if there is not enough pitch. Przemek
  14. Looking to buy tanker 172 in decent condition Thanks
  15. Yep my new schtubby, Coiler, tween tip is wider and even more squere looking than this, I LOVE it it works so good on groomers, crud,, small bumps but for powder i still prefer tanker for softer flex but stubby it is still decent I will get some pictures and post it as a separate thred this board deserve it. P
  16. I was riding foot deep powder and mix stuff today at diavolezza in swiss alps, HB on my favorite tanker 172 (i love this board so much) it was amaizing day !!!!!!!!! I feel i can go thru anything i noticed i was going twice the speed as other snowborders in big GS turns. I love HB set up with moderate alpaine angles for steep and open freeride! Things are different in forest i have to say. P
  17. I was playing with soft boots few sesons ago and get to conclusion that it is not worth an effort (transport, changing, logistic ect) i just ride plates on my tanker 172 and love it. Big GS turns on pow and whatever off piste and great carving on snow (80% of my free carve board performance) not too good on ice but didnt sharpen it for a while. I dont ride in walk mode but i dont tight them as much as for carve. I fund good binding angle front 45 and 40 back that works great for everything except stupidly tight steep forest runs in vermont (duck stance is better for this) I LOVE my tanker in big steep open spaces (alps) in powder, suprisingly i use very simmilar technique to carving (body movments) except i keep my board flater. I dont enjoy skiding turns in powder as much. P
  18. funny enough today i was thinking about our lovley niche heading to extintion in 10 to 15 years. I am in Alps now ( it is called alpain right?) and i saw only one very sad looking hardbooter. (my brother is comming up in few days so there wil be 3 of us) I used to see a lot of HB in Alps 10 even 5 years ago. Now it looks like USA, if you get to see 1 or 2 in one day if you lucky. Also is there anybody on this forum under 30 years old ? i doubt it. It become an old guys niche. It is sad, but extinction is near. Dd you guys noticed there are no new boots on the market most of producers use 10 years old molds, they will stop one day. All boards are limited series, custom and way more expensive. 0.005 % feels like more realistic number. We have probably 15 years to go and this is it. USASA will drop slalom and GS. Bruce, Fin and others will retired and there is nobody to replace them. There is very little hope to HB as we know it but maybe carving as an idea will not day and some day will be rediscover in improved softboots set up Happy new year!!!
  19. Quote: Well, thy won't quite spell it out, but would like to see everyone on duck or at least 0deg rear. 21/6 was about highest angles I was able to get away with. 45/35 was pure shock for the system, while at 35/20 I still wasn't getting any lessons assigned. end quote: Sounds like a dream to me no classes free ticket you can ride as much you want. When i was teaching in windham last sesson i was happy not to teach, i had no advanced and carving classes beginers only sorry i would rather ride.
  20. Way to do it is to ride on corduroy and get very comfortable and then work down to worst and worst condition, crud and small bumps, welcome to the club , i remember i was similarly excited abut carving cord in my early days!! Great feel.
  21. Hi BlueB I went thru similar soft booth experiment last season. I was teaching in windham (Kaatskils mountains) Difference was i didn't have too teachers were cool enough to let me teach in HB but i wanted to use softies to make my students feel less confused :) Also it was ice coast, it makes a big difference IMHO Here are my conclusions: 1 Soft set up (low alpine angles) work ok 80% of HB performance on hero snow. 2 on ice it was a disaster it was difficult to load an edge maybe 40% of HB. 3 I ended up changing my boots for a run between classes (i took my backpack with buts to the rack so it was relatively quick) 4 This season i only use my softies for snow kiting i simply dont see any advantages of SB over HB. Maybe SB are slightly better in east cost trees but it is marginal. is more about angles anyway Przemek
  22. Love the idea but hate the logo, sorry there is nothing i can do about it. But hey it is all about riding anyway, count on me if you need some help with teaching or anything else.
  23. Hi Boby I will come and teach eurocarve if you guys get me a lift ticket. Ops sorry it is an Amarican Carving Association (logo is very clear about this) so no eurostyle will be alowed, right? Przemek
  24. emaile me at Pgodycki@smartdesignusa.com or 917 3316615 we are thinking to kick off seson this weekend. Przemek
  25. Ok Here is my perspective (very subjective) okimo: too flat straton: almost too flat mount slow: waaaay to flat (only interesting terain is north face but lifts are slow and trails are icy and boring after a while) Kilington: has few good runs but very spread out (when they groom bear mountain it is great) stove: Few good runs but gondola run is too flat. sugerbush: never been to. Broomly: nice little mountain but when condition are not good, they are really not good there (south facing) fly west or europe.
