  1. Small company with first patent license on a new aircraft design. They are currently building a 1/4 scale prototype. Lots of CAD work and problemsolving etc. Very cool stuff. They also happen to be owned by a local snowboard guru:cool: You'd have a good time chatting with him anyway:biggthump
  2. whatz ur engineering specialty? I know a guy who might have room for just such an arrangement here and you could hit the Big MTN while you were in town:biggthump
  3. We currently have 24 people on the list as coming for sure. There are about 5 extras possible in the various parties. IF you are bringing people with you that aren't accounted for in the thread let me know. I also count around 6 locals for sure with 4-5 that I haven't located yet. I think we can hit 50 if we want to. There are a lot of oregon and washington and BC people that might be able to make a long weekend on the train. I may try to refine some of the festivities toward the weekend to include those arriving late. Chicago will also have a direct flight available. you can get into missoula from vegas very cheap so if you are close to vegas flights to missoula are 65 -85 $ each way. 100 mile drive to get here from there. allegiant is threatening to put in a flight direct to kalispell as well so maybe that will be in place by next season. I am working on possible midweek trip to Blacktail mtn for a large group I may be able to get them to open just for us with enough notice. they are open thursday thru sunday normally. They have an untapped mecca of groom. ITs a 40 minute trip from the big and if it flies I will arrange transportation. A couple of vans or something.
  4. Waiting on a reply via email from the mtn. I did find out that 20 - 25 is the numbers necessary to get the ball rolling on further deals. I have been busy so I haven't pursued it to aggressively. Lots of emails and local support so it looks like numbers won't be an issue. I will get a tally of names and numbers confirmed so far and get it posted.

    Carver trucks

they are sliding a little but its a fun transportation item at the moment. they are on a 40 inch deck to so the board eats some of the force. I am going to a 32 tonite we'll see what happens. the goofy front truck seems to take all the energy so far. I don't think it would work well on a regular set of trucks. so far its my flat land machine cause I am old, fat and look silly pushing:eplus2:
  6. I have been playing with a set of carver trucks. The articulated C7 truck in the front is a trip to ride. I had to get used to it steering in the back but it really is a blast to pump. when you get the hang of it it will go uphill. Heck of a workout but fun. I have tried several different wheels and actually settled on inline skate wheels 80mm 87a . I gotta be different:freak3: but for pumping they have less drag and longer run with a nice smooth feel. I am thinking about trying a set of "duallies" two to each side on a set of longboard trucks.

    Home Depot Scam

There are some variants of this particular scam out there. The most heinous of which involves a quick wedding. If you find yourself in this situation be very alert. If she asks any questions at all just moan DO NOT under any circumstances say yes please. Its for your own safety I assure you!

happy B-day dude! Any chance you'll join us at big mtn in january? the first annual Big mtn expression session.
  9. Did you use the vacuum bag kit thing?Howz the flex? It looks great I like the width:biggthump
  10. I don't know that much about them really. they live in the big lake here and some of the smaller ones. I guess they'd be a pain if you were trying to catch a cutthroat! When they are really in season you can't keep them out of the boat. people catch them by the hundreds here. I actually prefer whitefish's original name as well STUMPTOWN:biggthump there is still lots of stumptown remnants around stumptown snowboards being one of them.
  11. EASY NOW this is an innocent fish we are talking about here! They aren't a trash fish either!!! We actually fish them commercially in Flathead lake. I am not a real fish lover and I actually like to eat them especially smoked:1luvu: Doesn't mean I want one on my mountain logo tho:freak3: I don't think it will ever be anything but Big Mountain to any of us it'll just change the image for the newbs. I think we will have to make up special BM T-shirts for our BMES:eplus2:
  12. Think about how stupid the average person is. Now wrap your mind around the fact that half of them are dumber that:eek:
  13. there are issues involved. Cutting the metal edges and cleaning the ends up is a pain. I did it with a grinder and then cut the board with a band saw. I guess you could use a narrower shape and cut the edges off completely. IT is flexy but I can ride it at 275 if I keep my feet out closer to the trucks. It is perfect for my kid. I looked at several sector 9 boards yesterday that had nearly identical flex. I haven't mounted the burton with trucks yet but its much stiffer. I think old alpine boards are the set up to use if you want a stiffer ride. Lots of options on flex by what part of the board you use to. ALpine tails are stiffer than the noses etc. at least on the stat 6. inserts make for a great sky hook mount to:biggthump
  14. Just the elected ones then:lol: We get a lot of jersey transplants out here and they seem to fit right in so I can see your point.
  15. socialist WHACKOS:smashfrea :smashfrea nuff said
  16. found a set of inline skate rails on feebay! gonna try an inline set on the front like the onshore board set up:biggthump
  17. here's the kid in action:biggthump
  18. I just finished the rough prototype:biggthump I took one of john mcginnis's Garage snowboard seconds. It was a cosmetic blem board that couldn't be sold, It started as a 158 cm board and I cut it down to around 39 inches in a nice cruiser carver longboard shape and added mission m1 gullwings to it. Its a sweet flexy ride, perhaps a little to flexy for my oversized butt, but its perfect for my son. pics to follow I haven't located a router to finish the edges yet. I also cut a pintail out of my old Burton STAT 6 unfinished
  19.
  20. Garage Snowboards will be on hand with demos etc:1luvu: John is back in the race board business:biggthump or he will be by then anyway. we drug him out on the hardboots enough last season to reignite the fire:eplus2:
  21. TACKY I am sad No more BM jokes:( I live for BIG DUMPS etc!
  22. The "BONES" predict a peasant uprising that will sweep across the mountain destroying posers and corporate types alike! I can see the tshirts now! ITs all marketing BS anyway. on the plus side there will be 20 million worth of new doppelmeyer lifts:biggthump
  23. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19209310/ interesting article focused on better enforcement of existing laws
