  1. he's got a new book out but I haven't got a chance to read it yet.
  2. Maybeeee we are just showing the world we have the capability to knock there toys out of the night sky. I say dead on hit first go round. Its dumbed down for us sheep they are acting like its a first and it might not go so well. I believe they also said the missile doesn't have the range to hit a satelite in high orbit so it shouldn't worry the chinese. now if you extrapolate the usual downplay on military hardware published performance you start to get the idea that they are full of **** as usual.
  3. Heller Vs the US will potentially over turn all of them and we'll get to start over. Sounds like fun doesn't it. Derf you should read "more guns less crime" startling look at statistics worldwide pre and post guncontrol. they talk about canada and australia and the UK quite a bit.
  4. Derf I have had many long discussions with those on the opposite political front and one thing I have learned is that we all have more in common than we like to think we do. We all want the same things we want a cleaner planet and less crime and fair wages etc. we just have fundementally different approaches to how those things could happen. the media portrays both sides at odds rather than united in their goals. here republicans are portrayed as gun toating gas guzzling blowhards that want to take away your rights to porn and abortions among other things. Dems are portrayed as thieves who want to tax you to death and give your hard earned money to some drug addict on the corner. neither of these is really true. I simply believe that a free market with a minimum of government (conservative or liberal) will always yield the best result. there have been hundreds of inventions in the last 100 yrs that give a gasoline engine huge leaps in efficiency and they have all been bought and suppresssed by oil companies. My 73 camaro got better mileage than my 04 pick up does and it had a considerably larger engine. questionable smog reducing tech has mostly reduced efficiency to the point that its all a wash. I have been experimenting with hydrgen generators in my truck with good results. partially because it fascinates me and partially to get more out of my gasoline dollar. the free market will drive things to an equalibrium if we let it. screw Government regulation all it does is perpetuate the problems:smashfrea
  5. </P> not what I meant at all. We definitely don't agree on most things but its like a domestic disturbance mom and dad can hit each other with frying pans but just let the neighbor get involved and they will both hit him over the head.
  6. you have to be more dynamic through the radius of the turn with the push pull but you definitely still control the board radius. I find that if I drive my body down into the board It'll hold until I run out of room to drop down. I time that drop to match the turn short turns I drop hard long turns its a gradual thing.
  7. I called the local sanitarium. the men in white coats are on their way over. they want to take you for a nice drive in the country there will be cookies and milk and mother will be there. Audrey is not her responsibility. America was founded on the principals of self reliance and self responsibility. In America Audrey would be pissed that people were getting in her business. she is right where whe wants to be. she has a different value system than you do and values partying more than grades. THAT IS HER RIGHT!:D
  8. A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democratic supporter, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words, redistribution of wealth. She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican supporter, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his. One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school. Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 Grade Point Average, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying. Her father listened then asked, 'How is your friend Audrey doing?' She replied, 'Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 Grade Point Average. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she'stoo hung over.' Her father asked her, 'Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your Grade Point Average and give it to your friend Audrey, who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 Grade Point Average and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of Grade Point Averages. 'The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, 'That's a crazy idea. How would that be fair? I've worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work. Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!' The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.';) I really know very little of Canadian politics and other than some very surface oriented philisophical ideas I wouldn't think myself competent to comment on them. I always find it interesting how much heat is drawn from those non US persons on the board whenever a discussion arises concerning american politics. We all see the world through our own filters and it is almost silly to argue a point outside our own experience. My .02 (for the record I am not a republican I am an independant leaning toward a blend of libertarian/constitutionalist ) not a big fan of the BUSH
  9. ever see a family that didn't fight? just stay out of it or I will tell Dad on you:D I live fifty miles forom the border so some days its like Canadia right here in montana. We just luv em they are so quaint:ices_ange seriously though nuthin wrong with civil disagreement. A good discussion often breeds consensus and a better insight into your fellow man. There is after all no reality but your own.
  10. You know you're right. I forgot you were running the low angles. anything over 40 seems to respond better to the knee drive thing where as the high back takes the load lower. It does still help to keep your ass I mean mass over the board.
  11. I was only insinuating that there is a difference between rural and city living and working. I think its ridiculous to drive a monster SUV in the city unless you have personally sired a baseball team. At the same time its ridiculous to drive a small 2 wheel drive car in the rocky mountain region in february. (perhaps metro Denver aside) I am a doctor why would I need a truck? Well we haul our own trash to the dumpsite, we do our own moving, we own horses, we have 4wheelers (that are used more for work than play) we pull 2 wheel drive cars with california and wlsewhere plates out of the ditch, We don't commute in the sense that you do but many of us live 20+ miles out of town. We drive through wildlife corridors that will get you killed in small vehicles. we dodge Chip trucks and log trucks and tankers etc. small vehicles aren't smart here. many do drive them and ride bikes etc. but that is their choice. Not unlike the motorcyclist that chooses not to wear a helmet. Its his choice. It may be stupid but its still his choice. the point is don't make assumptions for a whole country based on your experience and desire. It may not aplly elsewhere. for what its worth I have been looking at some of the mini trucks imported from japan. 50+ mpg. the only problem is that they aren't DOT approved for road use here. The free market will adjust to gas prices and environmental concerns if you get the govmt out of the way. yes of course electric motors are very powerful but you still can't get one in a car that is adequate. at least not any further than the end of the cord:D
  12. here we go again listen to you big city coastal dwellers rant about big vehicles. In the majority of the country we WORK for a living and that work generally involves power. when you come up with an electric motor that will pull a loaded stock trailer and a body that can take multiple hits from deer, elk, moose, idiot californian trying to drive his midget mobile in a blizzard, etc. I will jump on your bandwagon. until then ride a bike if you want to. hell I don't care if you drive a metro just stay out of my business. Side note: the data on hybrids is startling. seems that they use more resources building them than they offset by fuel economy and on top of that they cost 25% more. We have more small vehicles here now that you can get a decent allwheel drive in a smaller car. I drive a SMALLER vehicle here and its an F150 with the small V8. I would love better MPG but you can't function in the Red states without a truck. there is a lot of world out there past the city limits guys.
  13. drive your front knee into the hill on your heelsides and it'll hold. same for toesides but its much more forgiving that way. you can be lazy with the knee toeside but you have to drive it heelside to keep from skidding out. anybody else know what I am talking about and have a different way of explaining it? I never know if it makes sense when I talk about it:freak3:
  14. glad you are enjoying it. I needed to raise money for a great deal on a pair of identity boards in 157 and 168 . I didn't want to let it go but I wasn't prepared to spend the money unless I sold something. Its a great stick. anyone ride the newer version? curious if its the same ride or not.

+1 the athletes are doing what we pay them to do. ENTERTAIN US we demand ever increasing levels of performance and pay millions for it. Of course they are going to do what they think is necessary to live up to that. congress needs to quit avoiding the real issues and get to work.
  16. ++++ depends on the board width. I ride em toe and heel on the very edge for the same reason mentioned. most power without booting out. on a 4807 thats about 35/30 on a madd bx its about 45/45 on a surfrodz demo I have been trying out that has a 19cm waist its about 85/80 I notice the angles closest to the middle 45/45 range are the hardest and the ones steeper than that get easier again as long as you are on the edges. 45/45 requires a deep stance and a knee driving technique but all that said the madd is my fave on the cord.:D

  18. one of my crew had his board stolen last spring off the summit. we found it this week. It was leaning against the summit house wall two days ago when we rode up. An employee had purchased it at a local pawnshop just weeks ago. so don't give up hope this was 9 months between loss and recovery:biggthump

My best freind is active duty navy. He is a white man married to a black woman. they were stationed in mobile, AL. They were driving home from New ORleans returning from mardi gras. They were pulled over in the middle of no where for no reason. the first thing the cop says when he walks up " Sir do you know that prostitution is illegal in the state of Alabama? " It went downhill from there. The cop didn't believe they were married even after seeing their military ID.
