dredman
Today I cleaned up, lubed and inspected several sets of my bindings. I found 2 bent toe bails. They were Intec compatible bindings, on the rear bindings and bent forward, so I assume they get stepped on when maneuvering around lifts with front foot clipped in. Glad I found them today. So be sure to clean, lube and inspect your binding while you are waiting for snow! The more you know!
scottishsurfer
Are those bends likely to affect the function or strength of bale much? I don't have intec bindings just the traditional kind so just asking out curiosity. I kind of have to check my soft bindings after every ride since I'm so hard on them. lowrider
If you weigh more than 50 lbs. replace them don't forget the Bomber butter ! Especially if they are on the front binding !!!!
dredman
+1 on Bomber butter or thread anti seize! Any time you bend metal it reduces the life span. I would way rather replace them than have one come apart while riding.
lowrider
I wonder if a longer shoulder on the lug would prevent this type of bending ?"Note to Forest on future designs."
dredman
I honestly think the bend is from me inadvertently stepping on them, putting a force on them that it was not intended for. More of a user flaw than design flaw. Once did it to a toe bail one also.
