fishrising
Sorry posting in this in a few areas.....Anyone have any reviews of the Powder Addiction cats that run around Jones Pass by Winter Park, CO? Might try and get on one March 30th. Was going to do Keystone Kats, but they said they only run Wednesday and Sundays, which sounded weird to me. I have 2 days to play in CO, Mar 29 and Mar 30. big mario
No reviews, but they were just in the news, one of their guides was killed in an avy last Thursday, triggered by a 2 skiers above them. Said skiers were not affiliated with the group. Backcountry is scary right now, even some of the above timberline inbound slopes have slid at Breck and Loveland. Plus 1 on that. Lots of backcountry "experts" equate expertise with not having been in a slide and discount the role of luck...

fishrising
Thanks, appreciate the info/link. We may end up with a "guide" for a 1/2 day at Breck ans the do A-Basin on our own. We will wait to finalize any real plans like that until the week we leave for CO, after see what weather and conditions will look like. But either way, can't wait to get out there! softbootsurfer
A slide from Tonar, to out past 5 fingers, over a mile wide crosses the Castle creek road twice and they set off Maroon Bowl and that crossed the road as well, it is a multiple layer bad news nightmare out there. Stay Away from the Backcountry!
