Carversparadise is just another option. The owner Sebastian, is also a instructor for Joerg’s  Pure Boarding team ( pureboarding . com). You can see him on the website, he knows his stuff. If you don’t know of Joerg, he has an excellent reputation, ask anyone here.

Met Jörg in Japan. Pretty sure he was a rockstar in a previous life.

Well, I guess I'm going to have piece together the posts as the equipment arrives!?!

After much research and advice from the forum (daveo in particular), the trigger has been pulled.

Thanks to Ivan at @i-carve, I received my new (left over) 17/18 SG Full Carve 170...in record time! I paid for it using transferwire and within 36 hours, the board appeared in NJ from Slovenia! DHL is the shite!! I can't say enough good things about Ivan, responsive, knowledgeable, helpful and fair with pricing. I just wish I could have been able to bundle everything through @i-carve.

Now the torture of sitting and waiting for the bindings & boots to arrive from UPZBoots.com.

Here's some garage porn for ya...20190104_141502.thumb.jpg.183421e807cff00ef167785f6a2042e7.jpg

Nice!!

What you end up decide on binding(SG performance/F2 step in) and boots(track700 or upz)?
Where do you plan to ride?

I was gonna save the boots & bindings as surprises!

I went with the 2019 RC12 Shoxxter: Solid Lime Yellow and the SG Performance Bindings.

I am 2 hours South of Hunter Mtn. In NY, so that's the closest for me. As soon as I have everything put together, I would like to head to Mt. Snow or Killington for a few days.

Awesome choices!  Apology to ruin the surprise lol...
Thats a world class/world cup setup you got there.
The liners come with UPZ get mix review; people either love it or hate it.
Since you have ride HB before; you should know pretty quickly to see how well it worked for you.
You are going to have so much fun!  Post in the ride board when you are ready to go for some company.

Yup, heard all about the UPZ liners, luckily, I have an Intuition dealer I can work with should I need them. Can't wait to click in again!!

Awesome! That paint job is killer...

Eager to hear how you like the SG. I imagine I’ll look into one of those full carves as a partner to my SG The Cult after I get some skills built up. I don’t see a ton of reviews of the SG boards out there.

How do you like the fit on the RC12s? Finally got around to getting boot work started on mine. My boot guy measured 100mm width vs my 110mm wide foot, so he’ll be punching them out quite a bit. Seems these UPZ aren’t actually that wide in the mid foot... but I still have room for toes to wiggle, so yes the “toe box” seems decently roomy. Picking them up tomorrow or Sunday. Hoping the new custom orthotics will help too as I pronate a ton and have always had pain in soft boots before.

Nice!

What’s up with the boots? Didn’t buy from my recommendation did you?

I’ll be up at Hunter tomorrow, testing my new boots. I have hardly used RC10’s in your size (312mm sole length), I can bring if you have liners for them.

You gotta be itching to ride!!! Kinda like having a Ferrari in the driveway with no tires on it.

The torture of receiving each item days apart is funkin REDUNK!

Haha, I've received new-to-me boards 2 or 3 days after the last ski hill closes at least twice now.  Try looking at a new toy all summer long...

You'll have a nice setup once you get all the parts, have fun!

'Murican forum, 'Murican boards. Hell yeah! Shoot a rifle, drive a truck and ride a Donek. :biggthump

But go buy an SG Full Carve 170. Seriously. The only thing you'll regret is not buying one sooner.

Soooo, not to be Debbie Downer but I just want to warn you not to get discouraged if you don't like the boots at first.  I've had to upgrade my UPZs with Intuition liners and stiffer tongues, and I've tightened the springs.  Now I love them.  If you feel your liners "squirming" inside the shell, this happens to some people.  Intuitions are the fix.

The prices we pay for glorified sledding...

Ohhhhh I drank that coolaid already too but I went for TheCult 169. Figured I’m just learning and mostly riding with soft boot buddies so it will be more versatile. Hope something like the Full Carve is in my future though.

That's a very sensible and educated decision! Plus once you are ready for a full carve board, you can keep that one for powder! What size did you get? Big or small? <- apparently I can't read

Intuitions saved my 700's from the For Sale forum.  They are SO good now and I'm sure a professional can make them better than I could with my hot sock filled with rice. 👍

The boots and bindings were purchased from UPZBoots.com. The bindings were shipped using our illustrious USPS and arrived on 1/7. The boots were shipped UPS and are scheduled to arrive 1/14! Itching to ride would be an understatement!

I leave for Mexico on 1/26...so it looks like February and March will be my time to finally get back on the hard boot train.

Thanks for the offer at Hunter!

Damn. Hopefully you get these soon. Looking forward to your review! Actually, kind of expecting you to hate the boots due to the liner. But stranger things have happened. Like me riding softboots in August 2018.

Watching the sloooow trek of my UPZ boots across the country is pure TORTURE...

Ten days... looks like the UPS driver is taking the scenic route. It seems like shipping from Washington state to NY or NJ takes longer than shipping from Europe.

I’m with daveo. You could get a pair of Palau liners from France, direct from their site. Almost $100 cheaper than Intuition, same if not better quality. No tax or shipping charges, I got mine in 6 days to NYC. They might even be at your house before the boots come...

I like the $100 savings, but who does the modifications/fitting (if needed).

DIY liner molding is easy, just don't sit down while cooling.  Here are some good instructions:

https://www.yyzcanuck.com/liner-molding-a-little-home-cookin/

I like the oven method as opposed to the rice method because the whole liner gets soft and molds both to your foot and to your shell.

If you need your shells modified, any good ski shop worth a damn should be able.

I took Jack M’s advice on heating the entire liner (oven method), the result of the outer liner molding to the boot does make a difference.

If you aren’t confident about diy, most places in the ny, nj area charge $20-30 max. The important thing is that they use a convection oven, not the blower which only heats the inside. Ski barn (near you), has a convection.

For a first time molder (if that is you), I would spend the $ on a fitter. You dont know if you’ll have other fitting issues which need to be addressed. After watching how they do it, you can do it yourself the next time if needed. That’s what I did.
