Bummer!  Nostalgia has worn off...

I’m getting all misty-eyed!  Apex GS 170 was the best graphic!  Unfortunately was too soft for me, but it was either Kemper or Aggression,or an F2 that was my first asym?  Love that new Coiler!

I’ve got my new Coiler BXFR too! It arrived just before a trip to Niseko, Japan...for powder. Well, i missed the powder window,  so it’s first time on snow, was on Japanese groomers!

Full review in a couple of weeks (much pow in Utah), but suffice to say, Bruce excelled himself...outstanding quality and finish, tenacious grip, and built exactly as I’d asked!

Differs from @tex1230‘s and @bobdea‘s  boards in that it’s 27cm wide. Worth EVERY penny!

I like that nose. It almost looks like a hardboot new gen tanker.

Also, I'll buy that Oxess for 25 schmeckles.

That tail looks like you're going to complete the turn whether you intended to or not!

Softer center... c'mon @Shred Gruumer up your squat regimen!

Ok like how soft... Bruce soft or you have to convince Bruce soft?

It took a lot... A lot...

Expecting a full report on the Shred Edge ASAP

Oh.. My oh my... Just got back from the hill...

10 degrees at first chair and firm perfect groom.. Perfect.. Finished at 46 degrees.. Yep sunny.. Warmed up that much with soft groom at the end of dayz..

This board.. Bruce will tell ya..is Shred Silly.. Centered inserts finally.. That took a lot of arm twisting too...

He nailed it on this one... I tried 3 times to get back to that dreamy planckenstien original... A now...

This thing was a Fricken a blast!  It's not a 188 racer.. It's a 188 that does everything well.. It can turn rediculously short or go long..  Very forgiving... It's 23cm wide.. So ya kinda gotta like that stuff..

Probably the best fun I had all season.. Such a cool board and the nose and tail are really really.... Really nice.. That one oddly enough was easy to convince Bruce to do.. Haha.

BTW.. how the timing worked to get this to my door for the last good snow (ya I know)..  He never tested this final iteration we ended up with... But ended with..saying "It's got crazy forward inserts.. And soft... You should like it"... Baaaaabingo!!! Dam near perfect!!!

It's has real balanced smooth flex.. I would not call it soft.. I'm 200..its just nice and even feeling... Nose is softer than tail.. Feels like it just progressively mildly firmer from front to back...

From just a simple measurement taken from the tip of the nose vs tip of the tail.. I'm set back about 9cm.  About 2cm based on effective edge.. For all you tape nazis..

It was a blast!! Nope not leaving my quiver anytime soon... Unless I get another one.. Doh..

Cheers.

I am talking to Bruce about a monster right now. I would like to hear more about how this differs from the stock specs. I am looking at  a 185 length undecided on width.

I was told that if you knew the science behind this boards real SCR you would be terminated. I couldn't believe someone would actually spend the money to try it but apparently it's a success. Go figure ! I guess if some real  computer nerd could blow up the images of the side cut they might figure it out. Any Russian hackers out there ?

It took some time but my this winter collection is finally complete. As we will have long riding season here in Cali, these boards still fall in this winter. From left Jones Ultracraft split, Virus Revolution Hypercarbon Narrow and finally Virus custom UFC 165 Evolution.image.thumb.jpg.150722e253d0a93f180c9e299aa07a18.jpg

Time's up. Review time!

I'm contemplating getting a hardboot specific one of these made at 170 long and 23.5cm wide with ptex topsheet.

Funny you saying that now! It’s finally stopped snowing in Utah, and we’re getting some groomer days. We did a little filming today, and we’ll do more tomorrow, so stay tuned! 👍🏾

JUst spent 3 days on it, with my favorite and highest level snowboarding student... I’ve been riding with him since he was 9, he’s now 25. He is absolutely fearless, loves to carve and has no interest in the park.

It was the best possible test for the board.

This board is everything I’d hoped it would be! He did some filming for me with a DJI Osmo pocket camera, with a built in gimbal. He’s going to send me the footage, then I’ll do a full review.

We covered over 30,000 vertical feet everyday for 3 days, and hit some reasonable speeds on it too. Rock solid.

While this is not technically a new board (I received and rode it for the first time last May), this definitely qualifies as board porn.

My wife is a professional photographer (portraits mostly https://www.shawnaleephoto.com/) but also took some shots of my Thirst Superconductor.  I almost don’t recognize it…

Nice photo! Comes close to capturing the beauty of the finish. Apparently a photo just isn't capable of capturing the 3d effect.

I would love to see someone post a similar photo shoot of the 9sw. I saw @Algunderfoot's in person last time I was at Indianhead and it was literally stunning, not only from its intimidating lean 195cm length.
