And the video dispatches from Kicking Horse today showed knee deep at the top, they're hinting at opening early as well. Even Nakiska got 5cm last night, and it looks on the webcam like there's been big piles of blown snow at the top of Gold Chair. Time to pull out some wax, I think ... Allee Posted November 17, 2016 Author Report Share Posted November 17, 2016 Nakiska Ski Area is **TENTATIVELY** scheduled to open on Sunday, November 20th, 2016. It won't happen. But at least it's cold enough now for them to be blowing snow again. The first two weeks of November were brutal ... Lake Louise had to cancel the mens World Cup downhill because they couldn't get snow to stick to the hill. On the plus side, Sunshine and Kicking Horse have been getting pounded this week. brbmahjerking Posted November 20, 2016 Report Share Posted November 20, 2016 (edited) I'm currently at Nakiska and can confirm that they've opened a few runs on the upper mountain. I saw one hard booter today (not me, I'm new and don't have boots yet.. Softbooting and skiing for now..). Snow conditions leave much to be desired.
