snow please

Central Otago fields (Cardrona in particular) are doing fine with frequent South/south westerly weather patterns bringing in cold moist air to fall as snow. Same weather patterns aren't reaching Mt. Ruapehu with any consistency, so while those fields opened 27th June, only their beginner slopes are running currently with man made snow top ups.

boidy77: Can someone please ask the northern hemisphere snow gods to send some down here

We had some avalange accidents the last days on northern hemisphere.

- June 21. in Carinthia (Austria) at mountain of Hohen Burgstall/Glocknergebiet (2800 meters). 3 rescued men, 2 victims and

- June 24. on glacier mountains of Switzerland (3500 meters), a huge cornice broke down, 1 victim.

Then we had snowboarding for free at Soelden Rettenbach glacier (Austria) on June 17.

I mean up to 600 m of downhill on empty slopes and perfect snow conditions, even beside slope too, isn't that bad if you had to pay $ zero for it.

Unfortunately no-ones will be ready to ship all that snow down-under.
