New Mexico is kicking arse this year. It started off slow but the past few weeks have put us at 100% open terrain STATE WIDE. Almost unheard of.

Santa Fe has almost a 90" base!!!

Most Colorado resorts are sitting at 30-50" bases.

Come on down...the snow is fabulous!

Time to take a "sick" day and play in the fresh snow this week. New snow here is as of Wednesday morning. Storm totals are since Saturday night. Some highlights for this week: Sandia Peak will be open this coming Monday for President's Day... Santa Fe has the next Beats On the Basin this Saturday... Taos has a mogul camp this weekend... Angel Fire has lots of Marti Gras events Friday through Tuesday... Pajarito will be open Monday for President's Day and has slopestyle competition and snowboard races this weekend as well as wine tasting... Red River has Marti Gras in the Mountains... Sipapu has a week's worth of events and February Fun Fest this weekend... Valles Calldera will be open Monday... Durango Mountain has a nordic skate clinic on Sunday... Wolf Creek has a Valentine's Race on Sunday.

Sandia Peak: 4 New. 6 Storm. 6 New This Week. 65 Inch Mid-Mountain Base. 30/33 (95%) runs open. 4/5 chairs running. P/PP/MG surface. 12 runs groomed. Open Wednesday through Sundays and holidays. The Scrapyard Terrain Park is now open. Will be open Monday for President's Day.

Santa Fe: 0 New. 11 Storm. 11 New This Week. 86 Inch Mid-Mountain Base. 72/72 runs. 6/7 lifts running. P/PP/MG surface. 30 runs groomed. The Boneyard Terrain Park is now open. This Saturday is the next Beats On The Basin concert at Totemoffs. Gumbo Project, from Santa Fe, performs on the deck at Totemoff's (mid-mountain bar) from noon until 3:00 pm.

Taos Ski Valley: 3 New. 25 Storm. 25 New This Week. 74 Inch Mid-Mountain Base. 105/110 runs open. 13/13 lifts. P/PP/MG surface. 30 runs groomed. If you don't have a week to dedicate to improve your skills, try the concentrated version... the Mogul Camp is this Saturday and Sunday featuring 8 hours of instruction for $160.

Angel Fire: 4 New. 19 Storm. 19 New This Week. 58 Inch Average Mid-Mountain Base. 75/75 runs open. 7/7 lifts running. P/PP/MG surface. 35 runs groomed. Night skiing is available Thurs. - Sat. nights from 4-9 pm. Liberation and Low Rider terrain parks are open. The Marti Gras celebration begins Friday and runs through Tuesday with lots of live music, balls and more and a Marti Gras parade on Sunday afternoon, Jambalaya on the deck on Monday and a Crawfish Boil and other events on Fat Tuesday.

Pajarito: NR New. T Storm. T New This Week. 76 Inch Mid-Mountain Base. 44/44 runs open. 6/6 chairs running. P/PP/MG surface. 0 runs groomed. Open Friday through Sunday. The Townsite lift and the runs under it are now open on Saturdays and Sundays. Will be open the coming Monday for President's Day. On Saturday, it's a USASA Slopestyle competition at the Crazy Mother Terrain Park. On Sunday it's a USASA Snowboard races. Also on Sunday (Valentine's Day) there will be a wine tasting with your sweetie. Wines by Don Quiote Winery, Truffles by CB Fox. 3:30-5:30 pm. $20 per person, $37 per couple. Tickets at the business office. Also on Sunday it's Alpine Sports Demo Day where you can try out the latest gear in front of the lodge.

Red River: 3 New. 15 Storm. 15 New This Week. 45 Inch Mid-Mountain Base. 56/57 runs open. 7/7 lifts. P/PP/MG surface. 35 runs groomed. The Hollywood and Gold Rush terrain parks are open. Marti Gras in the Mountains is Thursday through Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Sipapu: 2 New. 7 Storm. 7 New This Week. 34-43 Inch Mid-Mountain Base. 41/41 trails open. 4/4 lifts running. P/PP/MG surface. Wednesday is Car Load Days: Everyone in one car (limit 6) skis for just $50! This weekend is February Fun Fest, Sipapu's most popular annual event, including a giant snow castle, a costume contest and parade (Saturday only), treasure hunts, games, prizes and more! This Saturday ONLY (2/13/10): Come in costume and receive $5 off any full-day, full-price lift ticket! And on President's Day ONLY (2/15/10): Calling all PRESIDENTS: if you are the president of an organized group, club, organization or company, bring proof of your presidency and receive a FREE lift ticket! Enchanted Forest XC: NR New. 8 Storm. 8 New This Week. 38 Inch Base. 30/30 trails open. Coming up: Feb 20-21, New Mexico Cup Citizens XC Ski and Snowshoe Race... Feb 20, Half Day Snowshoe Lunch Tour.

Valles Caldera National Preserve: 0 New. 2 Storm. 36-40 Inch Base. 15/15 trails open. Open Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM - 5 PM. Snowshoe rentals are available onsite. Will be open Monday for President's Day.

Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory): 1 New. 14 Storm. 14 New This Week. 65 Inch Base. 85 runs open. 7/10 chairs running. P/PP/MG surface. 33 runs groomed. This Sunday, February 14th, the Nordic Center at Purgatory will be holding a skate clinic at 1pm. There will be classes for all levels of skiers. The cost of the clinic is $15 for Nordic season pass holders or $25 for other skiers. Equipment rentals are available on site. There are equipment rentals for both adults and children. Wolf Creek: 8 New. 24 Storm. 24 New This Week. 106 Inch Mid-Mountain Base. 7/7 chairs running. 77/77 trails open. P/PP/MG surface. The Water Fall Area, Alberta Peak, Knife Ridge and Horseshoe Bowl are all open. Sunday is a Valentine's Race.

Silverton Mountain: NR New. 10 Storm. 11 New This Week. 90 Inch Base. 69 runs available. Will be open this Thurs through Sun this week for guided-only skiing and boarding.

Telluride Resort: 0 New. 11 Storm. 11 New This Week. 55 Inch Mid-Mountain Base. 17/18 chairs running. 110/115 trails open. The new Superpipe & Adventure Park are open during the day, and Thursday - Sunday evenings from 4 - 8 pm. $25/night or $200 for a nighttime season pass (just $150 for Telluride Season Pass holders).
