Look at all the fresh snow again just about everywhere in NM! New snow listed here is as of Thursday morning. Here are some highlights for this week (all the details below): Sandia Peak has a great weekday lift ticket deal... Taos has the Salomon Extreme Freeride Championships... Angel Fire has Salomon Demo Days on Saturday and Sunday... Red River has beach days... Sipapu has the Hawaiian Days Beach party as well as demos days... Durango has another Starlight Snowshoe tour Saturday and Sunday is the last day for the Nordic center... Wolf Creek has another fun race.... Telluride hosts the Topaten-K Nordic Fest. Also, the end of the season is just around the corner. Some closings are just a few weeks away. Check out the dates below for your favorite resort.

Sandia Peak: 4 New. 4 Storm. 9 New This Week. 47 Inch Base. 28/33 trails open. 4/5 lifts. PP/MG surface. 10 runs groomed. Open Wednesday through Sunday. The Scrapyard Terrain Park now open. Weekday Bring a Friend Skiing & Boarding Special: Purchase any all day all lift ticket and receive the second one of equal or lesser value at half price. Not valid weekends & holidays or with any other special. Tentative closing date March 16.

Santa Fe: 25 New. 25 Storm. 30 New This Week. 111 Inch Base. 67/67 runs open (100% of the mountain). 6/7 lifts. 23 runs groomed each night. P/PP/MG surface. Ski Santa's Fe free style terrain park 'The Boneyard' is now open on Upper Broadway. Tentative closing date is April 6.

Taos Ski Valley: 10 New. 10 Storm. 21 New This Week. 111 Inch Base. 110/110 trails. 12/12 lifts. 31 runs groomed. PP/MG surface. West Basin closed due to Freeride Comp, Highline will be open after avalanche control work is done. Kachina Peak will be closed till Sunday due to avalanche control & Freeride Competition. The Nastar course is open now open and the Out-To-Launch Terrain Park is open as well. Taos Ski Valley management has announced they are opening the mountain up to snowboarding beginning March 19th onward. All of the mountain will be available to snowboarders with no trail or area restrictions. More information is available at http://ridetaos.org/. Closing date is April 6. Coming up this Thursday through Saturday, it's the Salomon Extreme Freeride Championships. Top extreme skiers from across the Rocky Mountain region compete for a cash purse and prizes in this IFSA sanctioned event. On Friday it's the Freeride Rail Jam: Some of the best Freeriders will be jibbing the rail at the base of lift #1 at 4:30 pm. DJ Uplifter will keep the beats rockin'and the party goin'. Angel Fire: 10 New. 10 Storm. 15 New This Week. 54 Inch Base. 76/76 runs open. 6/6 Lifts. P/PP/MG surface. 24 runs groomed. Polar Coaster Tubing Hill open. Lowrider and Liberation freestyle parks now open and the half pipe is open. Closing day is March 30. This Saturday and Sunday, it's the Salomon Demo Days. Check out the latest snowboard gear at the base of the mountain at the Salomon tent. Must be at least 18 years old or have a parent present to sign waiver in order to test ride gear.

Pajarito: NR New. NR Storm. NR New This Week. 57 Inch Base. 0/6 lifts open. 0/40 trails. 0 runs groomed. The Townsight lift and the terrain under it is open on Saturday and Sundays. Ski area is open Friday through Sunday and major holidays. The Los Alamos Ski Racing Club (LASRC) is presenting a Locals Race Series (Giant Slalom on Aspen). The final races will be NEXT Saturday March 15. Start times for the first and second runs on each race day will be 1:00 pm. Awards will be at 4:00 pm. Registration is $15 and starts at 8:00 am in the Pajarito Lodge. The races are open to skiers age 6 and up, with categories J1-J5 and adults. Skiesta is also Saturday, March 15. As last year, the Nomads will be playing for us, and beer will be available for purchase by Santa Fe Brewing Co. LASC Board members Darryl Gardner and Armand Groffman are once again organizing this event, hoping to reprise the great party we had last spring. Information on activities, games, races, etc. will be forthcoming soon. Please help us pray for sunshine and warm weather for this day.

Red River: 8 New. 8 Storm. 14 New This Week. 65 Inch Base. 49/56 Runs Open. 6/7 Lifts. Some spring snow conditions in parts of the mountain. Silver Chair operates on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Closing date is March 24. Beach Days are March 8-19.

Sipapu: 12 New. 12 Storm. 18 New This Week. 57-66 Inch Base. 38/41 trails open. 3/4 lifts. Active Military Ski and Ride Free at Sipapu; just show your Active Military Card and receive a free lift ticket. Blackout days for this offer are March 10-13, and March 17-20. Tentative closing date is April 13. Coming up this weekend, its the Hawaiian Days Beach party with music and great food. Enjoy winter in your t-shirt and shorts. There will also be ski and board demos.

Ski Apache: 2 New. 2 Storm. 17 New This Week. 12 Inch Base. 6/11 lifts. 80% of the mountain open. HP surface. All terrain parks open now as well. The chairlift #8 area is now open along with the trails in the Elk Ridge Quad line.

Enchanted Forest XC: 8 New. 8 Storm. 14 New This Week. 45-56 Inch Base. 35/35 trails open. March 21 - 24 are Dog Days. Ski all of Enchanted Forest trails with Fido. Last day of season is March 24. Some spring snow conditions now meaning trails are icy in the morning and slushy in the afternoon.

Valles Caldera National Preserve: 24 Inch base. Open Saturdays and Sundays 9am-4pm.

Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory): 0 New. 0 Storm. 0 New This Week. 85 Inch Base. 9/11 Lifts. 84/85 trails. 32 trails groomed. PP/MG surface. Purg's Pitchfork Terrain Park is open as well as the Paradise Freestyle Arena for advanced riders! The tubing hill is open, from 2-7pm on Fridays and Saturdays. DMR will stay open an extra week for the season, thanks to all the snow this year. Closing day was originally scheduled for March 30th, but they will be open until April 6. From March 31 to April 6 they will be open 10 am to 4 pm daily with three chairlifts accessing both the front and back sides of the mountain. Lift tickets will be only $40, and season passes are valid. Another Starlight Snowshoe tour is set for Saturday. Simply meet at the Guest Services Kiosk at 3:30 and take the last chair of the day up the mountain. Watch the sun set and the stars rise, enjoy a wine and cheese party at the Powderhouse then hike down with your guide. Package includes lift ride, snowshoe rental and wine and cheese party. Reservations please by Thursday. Sign up at guest services or call 970-385-2147. Come out Sunday to enjoy the grace of Telemark skiing while learning progressive techniques from our dedicated and experienced instructors. Our clinics are designed to be fun and user-friendly for skiers of all levels. Classes meet slope side of the big trail map at the base area at 9:45 AM. If Nordic Skiing is your thing, be sure and make it to the Nordic Center this weekend. The center will close for the season after Sunday.

Wolf Creek: T New. T Storm. 3 New This Week. 141-155 Inch Base. 77/77 trails. 7/7 lifts open. Alberta Peak, the Waterfall area, Montezuma Bowl, Knife Ridge and Horeshoe Bowl all open. Also, the families of Michael George and Kyle Kerschen, both 27 of Albuquerque, ask that you keep your eyes open in the Wolf Creek area for any signs of the two snowboarders lost since Jan. 4. If you see anything that could help in the search, let a ski patroller know. Saturday, Mar. 1st is the 5th Fun Race; and Sunday, Mar. 2nd is a Telemark clinic and College Day. Wolf Creek is extending the 2007-2008 season and an extra week, through Sunday April 13th. They will also open the two following weekends, April 19th-20th and April 26th-27th. A special rate of $27 for adults and $16 for children will be available for April 9 and the two extra weekends.

Silverton Mountain: 0 New. 0 Storm. 4 New This Week. 138 Inch Base. Silverton Mountain will be open Thursday through Sunday of this week for guided skiing and riding.

Telluride Resort: 1 New. 4 Storm. 13 New This Week. 90 Inch Base. 92/92 trails open. 16/16 lifts. 38 trails groomed. P/PP/MG surface. Closing date April 6. Hoot Brown Terrain Park and the SuperPipe are open. On Friday and Saturday nights through March 29, Telluride offers an amazing evening under the starlit sky. Diners ride a snowcat-drawn sleigh from Mountain Village up to Gorrono Ranch. Enjoy classic Colorado cuisine in an unmatched setting and sip a drink under the stars on the famous Gorrono deck. The event will be held at the top of Lift 10 for all Nords young and old, Saturday March 8, with divisions in speed skating, classic and touring.
