  1. The kit is now sold, sorry for the delay in responding, busy with moving
  2. Hi all, I am moving across the ocean and need to sell my hardboot setup behind. I can consider selling items separately Oxygen Proton 172 GS - a classic from 2004. On the average, i have ridden it a week per year, while skipping every other season. So ~60 days in total. I had a base grind done a few years ago. Board is under summer wax. F2 Intec Step-Ins - from 2004. Still going strong. Head Stratos Pros - from 2004. The clips allow fine-tuning, and the boot has a wide toebox. Size 28.5. Includes new intec heels from 2015. Intuition liners - bought in 2018. On the stiff side. Molded once. Used for 7 days. I propose 222 USD/300 CAD + shipping for the whole setup. Or make me offers on individual items Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada See more pictures https://photos.app.goo.gl/3U17QmKK4DLvDhdn8 Carve diem, Uku
  3. Thanks! Any ideas on the opening hours? They don't seem to be picking up right now. It would be a bummer to arrive at wrong time, as this place is still quite a busride from Papineau/Laurier where I start from :)
  4. Hi everybody! I've moved to Montreal for this year and I'm looking forward to try out your best carving pistes! My French is comme ci comme ca, so for clarity I'd stick to English for now  My board could really use a proper tune-up. So can anyone recommend a good place around Plateau (or downtown area) that would do a good base grind + edge tuning? I don't have car, but getting around with public transport within reasonable limits is perfectly fine. I also might need some bootfitting – my snowboard boots are slightly too tight so I figured that perhaps a decent insole would solve the issue. Could you suggest me where to turn to? Merci beaucoup! Uku
  5. Hi guys! I managed to loose a pair of glasses in the changing area. I left them either in the washroom or by the lockers. If anybody knows anything about them, I'd be most happy. They were dark-framed reading glasses with a bit of green on them. The event itself exceeded all my expectations! It was such a pleasure to watch carvers filling up the slopes, meeting all great people, and last but not least -- getting my broken Intec replaced in 30 minutes! Would have not happened anywhere else! Carve diem!
  6. Thank you for your kind offer. During the day I was already offered a return ride as well. So we're all goood!!!
  7. Can anybody pick me up from downtown Toronto? (Bloor & Spadina). I'm a student and thus without my own car. I would be more than happy to share any transport costs! 647 297 2924 Although I've been riding for years, I only have seen a few fellow hardbooters in my life. This event is going to be sooo coool

    standing up

hehe. thanks for all the advice. I have been trying to stand up like shown in the youtube video earlier. but as my ligaments are weak, this brought some serious shoulder pain :(. anyway right now on flats i turn over on my stomach and on steeps i do the grab thing. right now i have to stop and wait a lot as i am dealing with a group of ski tourists. they need to be waited every once in a while. +1 on the yoga part. i HAVE to try it out one day. carve on!
  9. hello all, I'm at the midpoint of my very first hardboot season and enjoying every moment of it. ok, maybe not twisting a knee, but apart from that.. a lot of fun. but I have kinda odd question: how the hell do you stand up when sitting on the slope? the flatter the slope is the harder it is. after some days of carving my shoulders are really giving me pain as I have to raise myself up with my left arm only. step-by-step. A solution is to turn myself on the stomach every time. But am I missing anything when trying to stand up from my ass? :p
  10. Hi Last season ended me with a bad injury, that I also posted on BOL. Right now it is getting better. Still making the rehab exercises, wearing protection and experiencing slight pain on daily basis. I also went to see an orthopedist, who diagnosed my ligaments to be hypermobile. That means, they are a bit weak to do their job -- to keep the bones together. But I still need to carve :) . The orthopedist recommended me wearing foot protection while I do any sports. But the issue is, that it is very hard to fit any bandages into my perfectly fitting Head Stratos boots. The doctor told me to wear this one as it gives me more protection but there's no way I can get my clips together. When I try something thinner then I can actually close the clips but still it feels really tight and when I walked around my room it soon stopped my blood flow. So I'm wondering what to do. I could try modifying the standard liners with a knife... or I could try to get some heat moldable liners. I wonder wether they would manage to fit my foot in with one of the braces I mentioned. What's your experience with wearing ankle protection? How much protection does the boot by itself provide? Thanks in advance Uku

    Nice Pic

IMHO they have used the most boring helmet available.. And this guy wears a moustache. But great to see snowboard carving in "mainstream use".
  12. here ya go: watermarked, but at least without stars http://splashnewsonline.blogspot.com/2003/12/photos-that-stripped-ms-nevada-of-her.html

    dehydration

Thanks for the read. It reminds me a fact that bottled water is 800 times more expensive than tap water. Read from a newspaper's Nature extra. And as we know now it is definately not that many times heathier. It could be a saviour in a region, where we have chemical accident or a pollution. But in general it is a big hype. And then we have Evian producing gadgets that enable you to spray water from the French Alps on your face on a hot summer day. Crazy.
  14. tested this out yesterday... and screwed it :). luckily no panties to lose involved. the mistake was quite simple... i flipped all the US measures into european...but degrees . so when i had it all ready to be heated i was thinking, " how the heck do those guys get 400 degrees". so i just used the grill to get as high temp as possible. only later i realised 400 could be in fahrenheit . (equals ~200 C) so they were quite burnt. but after removing the black parts they were excellent nevertheless. especially with ice cream. will try at least once more. thanks for the recipe.
  15. The snowboard history overview was informative and fun. Also I loved those views over the mountains. + ofcourse Terje's ride. But what ruined this picture was the (American?) way it was made. Like introducing everybody for 10 minutes where they all can say how excited they are... how really excited they are... and they REALLY appreciate this chance etc. It's like playing the same tape time five times. I think it would have been better if it hadn't tried to pull all the characters in. Most of them didn't have that much to show anyway. + more hardboot footage would have been great! I guess only a fan even noticed/remembers the few clips of hardbooting.
