  1. Sorry. Im in China and just got wind of this thread. Unfortunately I can not review our original conversation or any notes so I can not say exactly why I directed you to the knapton. Reasons I might have had could include ability level, desire for a certain turn shape or feel from the turn or the description of your riding style. I return on Monday. If there was an email thread leading to this decision, I would be happy to review it. If it was based on a phone conversation I will be unable to. It is not my practice to pressure anyone into purchasing during a phone consult precisely because i want them to have the time to research their decision. I do not.pressure customers to purchase anything, I only advise as to the best direction I think will achieve the goal that is deacribed to me.
  2. There was a device for measuring g-forces that was being passed around a few years back at a couple of SES events. No you can just put an app on your phone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haofu.gforcemeter&hl=en_US
  3. Most snowboard manufacturers have gone to an insert with an even smaller base and lower retention strength. At this point in time, we order the old inserts as a special order. I would not trust a board made by a mass producer to handle the loads created by an aluminum binding. Our construction on everything but the phoenix and park twin can handle at least 12,000 lbs of axial load at each insert. You won't find this in a mass produced board. Mark Kress rides our Saber with Bomber bindings and usually pops and insert by the end of the year. He is on snow several days a week and rides hard.
  4. I am getting some calls from people in a panic about broken parts, heels, and such. Last Friday a gentleman called me from A Basin (I was at Mary Jane)in a panic to get a fintec heel part. Today, a similar situation. I am happy to do what I can to help out here. I have just put 3 Fintec heels in my car for Fridays trip to A-Basin. I will also put a few boot parts in my car. Keep in mind I only have boot parts inventory, no Bomber binding or fintec parts. I'll see if I can throw in an old bomber binding or two just in case though. I will be at A-basin on Fridays generally. If there are parts you need, let me know and I'll do what I can for you. I drive my white Chevy Volt with the DONEK1 license plate and generally park in the front row. If I am riding with my son, he will take priority and you may be on your own when installing things, so bring your own tools please or get friendly with the guys in the Base N Edge. I can only accept cash if you buy something from me at A Basin.
  5. I'm almost certain Ryan Knapton had videos talking about both of these models on his youtube, so you could watch them. You are also welcome to call and discuss the differences with me.
  6. It can be a bit stringy., but it's stronger than PLA and a better low temp performer than ABS. It claims to be as easy to print as PLA, but I think it's somewhere between PLA and ABS. I was surprised by the warping as I had not seen any information on that being a problem.
  7. A patent does not stop someone from producing an object unless the patent holder has the funds to sue the infringer. There is no patent on the Bomber binding. The design files would be intellectual property that could be purchased in order to make reproduction easier. Reproducing parts by making careful measurements and creating a design facsimile is not an infringement on the IP. There may be an infringement on a copyright, should one exist. Generally there is a percentage change in design that is required to overcome a copyright infringement. Google would tell you what that change needs to be. Once again the person with the copyright has to have the funds and desire to litigate the issue.
  8. I had warping and bed adhesion issues with the PETG. On the 3rd attempt, I just gave up and printed on a raft. That fixed the warping, but the lettering looks crappy. My riding this Friday will be in softies, so no testing unfortunately. Maybe next Friday.
  9. I have put all the boots on sale for $200 below their retail price. This price will be available for the next 2 weeks.
  10. The boots are all unloaded, inventoried and on the web site site. I will work on the liners and parts this week. The 225s are a discontinued boot, so the price is pretty attractive.
  11. I can't say for sure what will be done with that small quantity of items. There were only a handfull of new boards there. I saw some carve company binding parts, but was no paying attention enough to look for those bindings. I have never assembled bomber bindings, so I can't claim to have a good eye for the number of total binding parts available. I would estimate that there were at least 100 to 200 bindings worth of some parts though. I do not know if every component had such a count. It's possible that there is a limit of only 30 pair based on a single component. There was a very large quantity of unopened part boxes labeled as Bomber parts.
  12. I did get the boot components. I saw a box full of them, so they are there. I'll let the other party chime in once his deal is done. I do not have parts, but I saw many many cables and handles. I would imagine the other parts are there somewhere.
  13. I did pick up all of the Deeluxe inventory. It is still packed in the van, but we will unload it this week and begin generating pages on the web site to sell them. I also have an order in with Deeluxe for next season, so we will be able to fulfill your needs there. If you go to the Donek web site, you will also find that we have a stock of Fintec heels and have access to more should you be in need.
