  1. Friday report: Totally fogged in for the morning - skiing/riding by feel, with lots of mush - total survival mode. Afternoon things cleared up and the snow turned into spring snow - must more fun to let my new skis run a bit and get a proper feel for them. It was easy to trench the mush if you pushed too hard...too mushy for my hardboot setup. Crowds started to arrive after school was out.
  2. Got one - located in Vancouver Canada. PM if interested and we can sort it out.
  3. Any word on how mushy Cypress is today? Looks like drizzle/rain at the bottom today.
  4. FYI - work dependent, I may be headed to Cypress for the day Friday. Hardboot first thing, then switch to some new skis I just picked up.
  5. I've still got a 163cm F2 Eliminator BX board (2 layers of metal) for sale if someone is looking for an early Xmas gift. Best soft-boot carver I've ever ridden - and can certainly handle plates. $250 Most of my skiing/riding this year will be at whistler, but if we wanted to organize a get-together day - I'll hit Cypress for a day.
  6. I've got a 5-day at Whistler - that's it for this season, day-passes otherwise.
  7. I've had good bootfitting experience with "The Destination" in North Van. Need to book an appointment, but now should be slow.
  8. I was skiing with the groms in Sunday in Whistler - it was hero awesomeness. We decided to give Cypress next season a year to figure out some kinks in the system. Staffing was challenged, some decisions around when the lodge is open for warm-up access and if/when to open lifts...not to mention "grooming". There is room for improvement and bring Cypress back up to be the premier mountain on the North Shore.
  9. Well, the Xtra pass sold out within a few hours...and we weren't on the ball. So it will be a year without cypress for our family crew (except the odd day pass).
  10. Thanks Boris - ended up booking Silverstar due to availability of accommodations. Now the big debate - I'll have skis to be chasing my groms around...but do I bring my plates to grab a few runs here and there... How is the grooming?
  11. To revive this - any thoughts on Silverstar vs. SunPeaks for family-friendly skiing? 2 groms (7&10) solid skiers both of them that can do Horizon or Rainbow without issue. I'm targeting a march-break option
  12. Skied Whistler yesterday - not bad conditions (soft over hard). Another day or so and it will firm up and make for some nice hero snow. Saw a beautiful Coiler with TD3 step-ins in the gear-rack...didn't see the rider though.
  13. Will be at Cypress Friday (maybe twice). Debating bring the plates out in the morning and then back later on skis with the kiddos. Coverage this past Friday evening was decent - so I think we are headed in the right direction.
  14. With the pandemic this year, we elected to defer our passes to the 2021/22 season - so no Cypress for me this year. We still have our edge cards at whistler (didn't want to forfeit $$ to Vail). So I'm still around
  15. I saw this today and wanted to see if it was from this group? Any intel? https://www.nsnews.com/local-news/rare-snowboard-reunited-with-owner-after-being-stolen-in-west-van-two-years-ago-3274242
