  1. I bought the Spark R&D Dyno DH plate bindings but I couldn't get them to fit my Deeluxe Suzukas. They were too tall from base to lip. The Dyno DH plate bindings are apparently made more for an AT ski boot. Plus you also need a way to convert the toes to the Spark Tech Toes. Has anyone had success with such a conversion?
  2. Hi, I am looking for hardboots for my 13 year old boy. I'm hoping some parent out there has some hardboots their child has outgrown and is ready to send them on to their next carving adventure. Will be at USASA snowboard Nationals in group 3 for Breaker boys. US size 6 (6.5) Mondo size 24 - 24.5 Thanks for reading this, Damion
  3. http://usasa.org/regions/rockies-region/swfreeride.html Both #1 Slalom and Giant Slalom races for the USASA SW Freeride Series will be held Jan 26th and Jan 27th at Red River, NM.
  4. Ok, so we are part way through and the carving army is starting to motivate and accumulate, this year at TSV. Ok, well I am there, and the hand full of other carver's I've run into there. And I have both some snowboard and ski friends that want to try their hand at hard booting. Where are the other NM carvers riding this season and what events and races are you attending?
  5. These are all great options and with gaining another mountain in the series this year (including interest in starting their own team), I think we are seriously poised to take off next year. Thanks for the advice and I'll report back how the implementation of said advice goes. In addition, I'd like to thank all of the members from neighboring series who came down to our races.
  6. Awesome. What time do you think you'll be in town? Do you think you'll be staying in Taos or Angel Fire?

  8. I'm probably going to hit Pajarito tomorrow, Saturday Feb 28
  9. sorry I missed you. I was supposed to be there today, but plans changed and I had to head back home to ABQ early. I'll be out next weekend. No events for two weeks, so I'm a free carving agent. Not sure where the thin white line will take me next weekend. Let me know if you are headed out.

  11. I'm starting to agree with the pro resort team ideas. We just held an event for the first time at a new mountain (not taos), been pro snowboard for a while. And I have the head of the snowboard school interested in starting a team there next year. So hopefully we'll get more people interested. I think our big issue, kind of what rdy_2_carve is saying, is that we are spread out. Our bigger mountains are a good 2 hours away from our biggest city supported by the smallest town. I've been trying to figure how to catch the big city eye to bring their kids to mountains for a weekend of team race practice. And of course, if rdy_2_carve ever made one of our races, he would see a ton more carvers. We even had some of the Rocky Mountain series come down to race. It was good fun.
  12. Made at least the ABQ Ski Swap/Snow Expo. What do other people who race in their respective USASA series think? Does advertising help. Another idea is to encourage more resorts to start teams to hit events. A lot of area resorts have established ski teams, so why snowboard teams?
  13. I have not heard anything about copper passes working at taos. But the lift ticket is $27 for competitors. $25 for entry. Sign up is morning of. 14. Our series is dieing out, especially in Slalom and GS events. If we can't boost our numbers soon, I am worried that no resort will pick up these events up next year. I know that nationally USASA is loosing numbers in the SL and GS events, and series directors are asking the board of directors if these events could be let go. Fortunately they haven't, but it comes up for a vote just about every year. I'd like to know if anyone from other series has any experience, ideas or suggestions on things we can do to start boosting our numbers and getting more competitors. This is more out of self preservation that if we can't do what we can to keep our suppliers (Bomber/F2/Prior, etc) in business with plenty of customers, we may loose our hard boot addiction source.
