  1. I was up at Nakiska on Saturday with the kids for opening day. The lower mountain was pretty thin and not open. They are going to need a lot of snow making to get coverage, but are rumored to be opening the lower mountain this weekend. Everyone uploaded and downloaded on Olympic chair. Upper and Middle mapmaker were the only runs open off the gold chair, plus the glades (thin). Conditions were cold and way icier and hardpacked than I expected with all the recent snowfall.
  2. Thanks, after reading the posts here i have some tips on how to mount up the bindings differently and i'll play with that as well.
  3. Gold Chair was running yesterday at Nakiska. groomers were a little lumpy, but upper mountain snow is hard packed and not icy. lower mountain is much harder and approaching icy. Gold chair was down due to a maintenance error and a bad cable cut. they needed to order in 900m of new cable to fix the issue. all good now.
  4. Hey Guys, I've been snowboarding for 20+ years but just relatively new to hardbooting and really like it, but need to ride with others who I can watch and learn from. I was at Nakiska yesterday and met shortly with a guy and he mentioned this forum. He also mentioned the NES this weekend. I am interested in coming out. I am in Calgary in the NW. I picked up a Prior 173 board and Quattro Bindings with Raichle AF600 boots a few years ago on Kijiji and it seems to work ok, but I am sure there is wisdom to be shared with me. it seems like some guys here are eager to share and get more riders into the sport. I have no idea how old this gear is, but it has been a great intro to the sport, and I am having a lot of fun. Finally I have a way to appreciate the groomers!
