  1. Still to get on an aRK or Party wave. I have a board on order just can't decide on what to get. I was gunning for a 160 Wescott but a bit intrigued by the aRK. The ST absolutely rips! Ahhh the Whaler is a trip too but a bit too stiff for me.
  2. Still got these boots, gotta go make me an offer.
  3. I don't think these have ever been worn. $150. Let's talk.
  4. Winterstick 162 ST, she is a beauty. Changes color in the sun, kind of like a plumb. Hooks up nice when you want, snappy transitions, wide soft nose, actually rides switch quite well. I am very happy with this board. Anxious to get it out on a pow day. Seth tells me it is all I will need.
  5. I am on Strava, changed my life! It can be a serious problem for some. I use it for tracking my stats mountain biking, should hit 1200 miles tomorrow! It is great fun to challenge your friends, see how you stand in your age group or overall standings. Lets face it, its always good to be the king. The caution is to not be an ass about it and run people walking or kids off the trail just to make a good time on a segment. I do not use it downhill biking because I think that would only inspire me to go too fast, same with snowboarding. Some resorts are begging people not to use electronics to track there stats. People are getting seriously hurt. Snowboarding is just for me, it's about having fun, getting my heart pumping, blasting some pow but most of all just to put a smile on my face, my Zen. No race, no competition, no stats. Enjoy. James
  6. Sweet Bindings not a mark on them. No discs or hardware, just the Bindings, check them out, make me an offer, looking to move these quickly. Enjoy. Can't seem to upload pics message me and I will send pics j.cornwalled2 gmail. txt 2ohseven27four4one5nine Thanks James
  7. I also rode a Burton Fish out in BC for a few days. The Fish inspired me to get the Hovercraft. While the Fish is a hoot in deep stuff it is absolute death on anything else. The Hovercraft while kind of similar in shape is much more well rounded. It does it OK on groomers, it is real soft, nothing better in the trees, I have even ridden it in the bumps. Not the fastest thing out there but unsinkable, zero leg burn. It floats alot more than a Fish, the fish is more surfy.
  8. I just did a short write up on my morning on Seth's board on this site. She is a sweet ride for sure, but the ST is just more my type of ride. Actually have 4 sticks in the collection including a 161 All Mountain and a ST both early 2000 that have never been on snow. I have been riding my sons 154 all mountain most of this season, though it is a bit small for me, for an older board it realy rides well. I demoed some of the rock.cam boards getting all they hype, ah give me camber, give me life. The rock/cams just seem dead to be. I can spin my old camber board to switch with no problems. With Seth now on the team I would expect the world to see hear and read a lot more about Winterstick. It must live on! JC
  9. I also spent the day Surfing the new Winterstick line. Where else but Sugarloaf USA, Seth's board is like nothing else I have ever ridden. First of all BEAUTIFUL board, ultimate construction and craftsmanship are obvious. When I first saw it I thought of another wide nosed powder pig. NOPE, the only way I can describe it as a Race ready surfboard. Right, that makes no sense. It is wide, I also rode the 164, I am used to a big board but with 50mm setback it seems like it is all nose. My first run I was a bit unsteady, after riding predominantly twins for the past however many years riding a directional board on groomers is a slightly different technique. Once I got my weight shifted back a bit and stopped drooling all over myself it got fun. What I was shocked by is how fast it is. I guess I should have known a Seth Pro model is going to be fast. But this is a powder board right? No it is not, well it is but it is more than a powder board. Shift your weight back on the tail and it gets real surfy, lay it on edge and hold the hell on(Wide and fast, how did they do that?)! I popped off some slush piles and got some mid life air with easy. I had to grin when that big nose rose up into the air. It really is a a miltipurpse weapon. I was riding spring slush, it would cut thru crud like anything, surf the soft stuff, air, and edge all very well. I did spin it around and did a few turns switch, it works. I would not say it was happy to go backwards, 20mm taper and 50mm set back is not even close to twinish. With that much setback the board felt big to me. I am 6' 175lbs, and 46 years old. I have been riding a 167 twin, centered, so I am used to a bigger board. The 160 would prob. be a better fit for me, possible even the 156. The only area it did not fit my style was edge to edge quickness. Being wide and tapered it just is not quick. It is just how I ride, I did not really get into the bumps with it. In the afternoon I jumped on a ST59, now that made me smile for the rest of the day! I loved the ST, this is not the old Severe Terrain, it is the NEW ST, Surf Turns, or as I say Smile Turns? This board did everything I wanted it to do, if you love your board it will love you back! I think the feeling were mutual. Quick, switch, surfy fun, edge, fast, yep this is it. Just enough taper and early rise that I am sure it would rip the POW. There you go a Super fast Race Surfboard, or a all mountain ripper with a knack for the POW, both awesome boards with very unique personalities. I also saw the Swallowtail in the shop WOW it is huge, first time I have ever seen one in person, so cool! Thank you Dimitrije!
  10. 27 and counting. I started the season of 87/88 at Sugarloaf USA, one of only 2 that would allow us on the hill in Maine anyway. Burton Cruzer 165 ugly thing, then Barfoot 1/2 pipe, another Barfoot freestyle, Avalanche Damain Dagger(complete with hardboots and plates), Arbor Roundouse 167 both with plates and softies, now a Winterstick All Mountain, and next I am hoping for a Winterstick ST. Enjoy the ride, make it a long one.........few more days left this season in Maine.
  11. What do mean, back in the Winterstick days? Winterstick is live and well, In fact you can still buy The Swallowtail, a modern version of what stated it all. They have the New Seth Wescott pro, and I will be posting my experience shortly. The issue is not camber, it is taper, a tapered camber board will do it all.
