  1. @Ster based on what you are saying I would go 11-12, especially with that length.
  2. @Ster how steep of terrain will you be riding? What level of riding are you at?
  3. The bigger the last radius is the faster you will potentially accelerate out of a turn. Racers love this. Their boards often have quite large radius differences tip to tail. For most recreational free carvers I would not suggest a progressive sidecut, unless you are a super aggressive rider.
  4. I am a little busy for the next week and a half so no time for a good write up. They are spectacular. My carving buddy Eirik demoed them and ordered 1 of each.
  5. Those are hard to find! I too am looking.
  6. Not sure where to put this, but here are a few clips of Eirik Stout and I at Red Lodge MT today. May or may not be worth watching..
  7. Donek Turner FC 174 19 12 SCR Half Secret Construction / Hot 185 19 15 SCR Secret Construction / Mild Trying out tomorrow at Red Lodge.
  8. Always bring a pow board to MCC!
  9. I am building a "Carvers Jeopardy" Game for MCC and I would like your help coming up with "Answers" and "Questions". Please message me through this site or email me at montuckyclearcutAThotmailDOTcom with your trivia. We don't want to have the potential participants to have a clear shot at winning. Thank you for the help! David
  10. Turner Mtn is opening on Monday (too frigid to open before then)! We will see you all soon!
  11. More Fin adventures here. https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/fin-and-mechanico-spank-the-world-mexico.1687581/
  12. And that is why we have a “No Passing Rule” on the groomers at Montucky Clear CUT.
  13. That should be just fine. The only time I ever had to put chains on going to Turner is when there was a rain on icy roads weather event, and it was raining hard. There is not a shuttle to Turner. Cheers!
  14. Yes they are active. Talked to Walker just the other day. Like many of the niche/boutique snowboard shops, they are not staffed 24 hrs a day. They have historically been very quick at shipping out products.
  15. Lots of that already happening. Seems to be very popular.
  16. @Ster tell us about your riding style, what you want the board to do, and what type of terrain you like riding. Maybe we can help.
  17. I would get in touch with Donek. They can custom build you exactly what you want. Fill them in on all of your details and riding style and they will build your dream ride... The North American board builders are all spectacular. Donek, Winterstick, Exegi, Coda, Coiler and Thirst boards are built individually for the rider.
  18. @Ster check out https://www.moon-and-carve.com/en/news-en/ This is the event we will be going to. Lots of great board manufactures there with test boards.
  19. @Jack M I agree Donek and Winterstick are building really darn good carving boards with some amazing construction = Damp as you want or need and great rides. The "Secret" is really just that... You really can't go wrong with either, that is why I have both!
  20. @timbox18 We are flying into Zurich, renting a van, hitting Livigno IT, St. Moritz, Elsign-Metsch, Zinal and Saas-Fee and the M&C. Arriving in Zurich on Feb 13 and leaving on the 21st. We are at capacity for our vehicle. We are staying at the Hotel National in Frutigen. @nextcarve or @Heinz might have better intel on M&C details.
  21. @Ster The Secret construction is as good or better than a titanal construction board with its dampening properties. Check out the descriptions for the "Mild" version of the Donek Turner FC https://www.donek.com/product/freecarve/ A few of us will be over at the Moon and Carve event in February. You are welcome to take my Secret Construction Donek Turner Freecarve for a ride to check it out.
  22. We just sent out an event update and wanted to make sure you all got it. Look for an email from montuckyclearcut@hotmail.com. Check your junk folders! Thank you for your support!!
  23. But with a wider stance you can increase or decrease the amount of bending between the bindings by resisting/torquing legs together or apart. Another factor is what parts of the board are stiffer than others? Tip, mid, tail or evenly? Agreed...very complex...what about how quickly or slowly the board wants to return any bent energy. (Think rebound and compression on off road shocks). What about how much deflection before the board gets stiff? Oh so many variables!
