    FIS PGS/PSL Bias

In re-run format, it was only 10% of the time the slower rider would come back in 2nd run and win. It doesn't affect the game that much. 80% of the time the final podium comes from the top 4 qualifiers (in men's field) as well. Re-run parallel format is too long to watch and doesn't fit well into keeping peoples interest. I appreciate they were willing to try something. Although, from a spectator standpoint, I think the lag time between heats is still too slow.
  2. Clarification: Parallel Giant Slalom (PGS) is still in Olympics. It's the second alpine snowboard discipline called Parallel Slalom (PSL) that got bumped. Justin is suing to reinstate PSL.
  3. I would say thats Japan, not Korea.
  4. at some point, you just have to pull out the beer goggles... (indoors, while seated of course, not operating heavy carving machinery)

    Alpine Snowboard Teams

Thats Alpine resort in Ontario that Derek is helping out with. Pretty stoked he's around again. He had a great program 10 years ago, and its showing in the Alpine team again, now strong the team is so quickly. Jonah and Danielle are a big part of that team too. Danielle will be the NorAm coach this season, with Jonah and Derek helping out more locally.

Hope everyone is getting stoked about the upcoming winter. Just had a great month at Mt. Hutt in New Zealand with the team. 7. Bryan, it was almost as good as last season for snow. mile was still open last week. could ride right to parking lot. Its summer, so there is that narrow window each day where the snow is just right for carving. Thanks for the props for the show. We arent going to do it this season, rather we will do short <3 min magazine style updates through the year, seems to keep people watching more. - Mark
  8. Heres a vid from our camp last summer. We just finished another good camp there. Timberline and the afternoon off-snow fun is always good to us <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gzPEFU92gOQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>
  9. Caroline Calve training at Sunshine Village yesterday. Sunshine opened divide lift for private training for us this week. Mark Fawcett sneaks in a few turns while coaching at Sunshine.
  10. Im looking for a video link online for Mark Fawcetts GS run at the 1998 Olympic winter games.
  11. Hi Neil, Its a still picture, so no need to follow. It was taken from that angle, to keep sun behind. It's a cool angle with Wawa in background.
  12. Sunshine Village took care of us, and we plan to return next spring. Heres a few more pictures.
  13. Spent the past week at Sunshine Village training. Good snow, good weather. We have 2 more days on snow, then a break until late June at Mt. Hood.

    "on Edge"

Thanks! The dalbello is a fairly good boot for us so far. But its not perfect, still looking for the holy grail of hardboots. You are maybe also seeing the UPZ boot in the same green colour too. Now if only someone would start doing R&D on hardboots again...
